Drama Von Radio Magnifico

So long are the days of the radio drama, along with top hats and mutton chops they have been forgotten. Surpassed by technology, regular hats and the soul patches these historical practices don't get the respect they deserve. These will be cool again one day, i swears it.

I hear a lot of people talking about how lame the radio is, and compared to MP3 it kind of is. In this age you can hear the music you want immediately, why would you subject yourself to advertisements and idle banter? But the radio is exciting and unpredictable. i love driving home after a long day and having Falco-Rock Me Amadaus come on, i damn near crashed my car once. Radio dramas however are a different story, they have been replaced by HD TV. Now i guess i could listen to Jennifer Love Hewitt whisper to ghosts over the radio, but i would rather watch it happen. There is no telling how far private viewing will go, with the 3-D craze we wont stop until we can smell Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Radio Drama's do have a chance to survive but it will take fresh new sounds and a population with an imagination. Which is why I think that a drama that incorporates new music into the story-line will be a hit. The beauty of this would be that the audience could listen to good music and exercise there imaginations and entice some sort of brain activity. I imagine everyone sitting around their computers and streaming this radio show and laughing and crying together.

The one thing I would never want to do is release a picture of the characters, that would ruin the whole experience of the drama. I'm sure fans would submit their own interpretation, but thats the best part they will all be different.

Who'd yah rather?

  1. That was a much-needed laugh on a Monday morning! One question - if Falco is distracting enough to put you in danger while you're driving, does that mean they're really good, or really bad?
