Drilling Babes!
This is a short story idea I came up with and possibly the next Michael Bay project.
Three female scientists embark on a geology expedition to the center of the earth. Except for some in fighting, the trip is routine. The crew consists of Kelly Kennedy, Tashi Aoki, and Bethica Silver. Kennedy is the leader of the expedition, an accomplished gymnast and geologist. Her father owns the laboratory funding the experiment. Aoki is an active navy seal, a master of martial arts and telepathy, and Silver is a women’s studies professor and ex pro wrestler. The three are brought together to fix a crack in the earths core that has been causing earthquakes around the world. They find that the cause of the earthquake is an army of mole men who wish to destroy the world. The women strut, smack and suspend the mole men’s misogynistic plan only to find that the king of the mole men is really Mr. Kennedy, Kelly’s father.
Kelly is the main character, she is empowered and independently wealthy. She demands respect in the business and science world yet seeks approval from her rigid father. She feels he doesn’t take her seriously and rarely takes her feelings into consideration. Kelly will do what she has to in order to save her life and humanity. If that means crossing her father and taking him down, then so be it.
The theme of this story is female empowerment. The three women are the heroes of the story defeating the mole man army and saving the world. Each of them overcomes powerful male figures in their lives. Even though it is geared towards feminist attitudes, there is an abundance of positive messages about equality. Together the women and the mole men learn about the fine balance of gender roles beneath the earth and on the surface.

I like this story, but am I gay?
ReplyDeleteI think there are a few Spice Girls not working at the moment that might suit the film version of this. Grrrrrrlllllll Power!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI thought I was done laughing when I read this post...and then I read Greg's comment. This has so much potential, Jeremy. I think you should write the script and get in touch with Bay and Bruckheimer ASAP.
